Hi Ray; I have no trouble checking oil level. I hold the right hand grip with my right hand, lean down to see the glass window and I can feel the balance of the bike as to whether it is level or not, very easy. I bought a Suzuki GN400X in 1980 with the same glass window and now I have a '99 Savage, so I have been using this technique for more than twenty years. As for the belt, I simply lay the bike over on the side stand until I can slide a block under it with my foot and then bring the bike back up to level, depending on where you locate the block, you can have either the front or the back wheel off the floor, or both. Then I look straight down on the pulley, and by turning the wheel, I can see how the belt is riding the pulley. I want to see approximately the same distance between the edge of the belt and the edge of the pulley on both sides. Hope this helps, Frank M.
